Top SchoolMatt Darling is an engineering leader with 20+ years of experience who currently serves as SVP of Engineering at Engrain, where he focuses on turning geo-referenced data into fast, intuitive spatial experiences and building the API and data-pipeline foundations that enable scalable product delivery. He founded CTO Bridge to provide fractional CTO/VPE leadership across proptech, fintech, and DTC, and continues to advise startups and growth companies on aligning strategy with execution to ship outcomes rather than output. His hands-on career spans roles from CTO at Madison Reed to product and platform transformations across payments, retail, and real estate tech, with deep attention to developer experience, platform reliability, and pragmatic architecture. Known for combining executive strategy with tactical delivery, he has repeatedly modernized platforms, led compliance and security efforts, and built high-trust engineering cultures. Based in San Francisco, he especially enjoys tackling problems at the intersection of spatial data, integrations, and product UX, bringing a practical cadence that compounds engineering ROI. An understated differentiator: he pairs startup-minded rapid prototyping with enterprise-grade reliability and compliance experience across PCI, GDPR, and CCPA domains.
