Top SchoolMatt Doiron is a Senior Building Energy Engineer with 12 years' experience helping architects, builders and policymakers deliver high-performance buildings across the US and Canada. He combines a Mechanical Engineering background and a Master’s in Building Engineering to guide projects through codes and certifications such as ASHRAE 90.1, NECB, BC Energy Step Code, the Toronto Green Standard and LEED. Known for whole-building energy modelling, Matt develops practical tools—like the IDF+ editor and innovative visualization software—to make large-scale parametric simulation results interpretable and actionable. He consults remotely from Halifax, bringing hands-on simulation expertise to both new construction and retrofit programs. Beyond consulting, his thesis work on a near-net-zero solar house (EcoTerra) reflects a long-standing focus on integrating renewables and efficiency into real projects.
