Summary
👤
SeniorMatt Durak is a Principal Software Engineer with 15 years of experience building high-throughput storage and messaging systems at Microsoft, currently focused on native append-only log storage for Azure Messaging (Event Grid, Event Hubs). He has deep systems and networking expertise, having implemented Wi‑Fi Direct services and Miracast features in Windows and contributed to BranchCache and other core connectivity subsystems. Comfortable across C/C++, C#, Java, Python and cloud platforms, he blends low-level performance engineering with service-oriented microservice design. Matt also brings entrepreneurial and full‑stack chops from founding FeedStream and building PHP/Symfony sites on AWS, plus hands-on experience applying genetic algorithms to agent-based simulation during grad work. Based in Redmond, he is not actively seeking new roles but remains engaged in scalable distributed storage, networking, and pragmatic engineering leadership. An unusual strength is his track record of shipping both device-level networking features and large cloud messaging infrastructure, bridging firmware-to-cloud complexity.
