Senior🎓
Top SchoolMatt Forster is a Staff Software Engineer with 11 years of experience building developer-facing platforms and production services, currently steering platform and foundations work for the front office experience at VTS. He combines hands-on coding in Go and TypeScript with architectural leadership—shaping roadmaps, ADRs, and scalable design patterns while executing large-scale refactors and infrastructure automation on AWS. His background spans backend systems, Postgres, Kafka, and DevOps practices from founding Node.js teams to leading platform teams, which gives him a pragmatic appreciation for both product UX and operational reliability. Based in Lethbridge, Alberta, he’s as comfortable mentoring teams and championing engineering culture (including writing and decision records) as he is shipping features and improving developer experience. An avid learner and outdoors enthusiast, he brings curiosity and a maker’s mindset to solving complex systems problems.
