Top SchoolMatt Provost is an engineering manager with 25+ years of hands-on technical experience and 16 years in leadership, currently building secure, scalable networking at Tailscale from his base in London. He has led large, cross-functional teams across autonomous vehicle perception, ML infrastructure, and cloud platforms—saving millions in AWS costs while shipping camera-first AV systems at Lyft/Woven and migrating Yelp to Kubernetes and multi-region AWS. A pragmatic problem-solver who began as a systems and network engineer, Matt combines deep operational expertise (datacentre, storage, and networking) with software and MLOps delivery, and he’s the author of "Rust From the Ground Up." Colleagues rely on him to hire and retain diverse technical talent internationally and to translate complex research into production-grade systems. Notably, his career spans both high-performance render farms at Weta and large-scale data collection for autonomous driving, giving him a rare blend of infrastructure, ML, and product instincts.
