Top SchoolMatthew Gray is a pragmatic software engineer with 11 years of experience building and leading teams across payments, energy, and media-tech domains from New Plymouth, New Zealand. He combines hands-on full‑stack development (notably Ruby, JavaScript, Go and cloud tooling) with people leadership—having grown and coached engineering teams, defined career ladders, and run lightweight agile practices. Matthew has shipped integrations and microservice features at scale, delivered payment and meter-type expansions in the energy sector, and implemented debit-card workflows and automated expensing. He thrives on hard problems solved by collaboration and test-first engineering, and likes speeding team delivery through pairing and clear architecture decisions. A former Weta Digital lead and long-time open systems contributor, he pairs production focus with an interest in operational reliability and domain-driven design.
