Top SchoolMatthew Gretton is a freelance software developer and former University of Tasmania software engineer with 11 years of experience building interactive multimedia applications and experiment software. He has delivered over 50 commercial and public-sector products and now combines that production experience with cognitive research skills gained at the Newcastle Cognition Laboratory and TasCL. His work spans porting and optimizing statistical analysis and cognitive modelling tools, developing experiment tasks and training exercises, and designing bespoke stimuli presentation hardware and lab PC systems. Based in Hobart, he brings a rare blend of user-facing multimedia engineering and rigorous experimental-methods thinking, with a particular interest in how perceived validity and participant motivation shape cognitive task performance.
