Top SchoolMatthew Hartstonge is a Development Growth Lead based in Christchurch, New Zealand, with over a decade of hands-on IT and software engineering experience and 14 years in the broader tech sector. He blends systems architecture and backend engineering (notably in Golang, Kubernetes, Azure and Terraform) with a passion for team development—onboarding, coaching and building a technical brand. His background spans operations-level automation (OpenStack, Ansible, Docker), full-stack JavaScript work including Ember.js, and mobile iOS development, giving him a rare mix of infrastructure and product-facing skills. As a small-business owner he’s kept a pragmatic, customer-focused lens on hosting and IT services while leading scalable engineering practices at Hero. Colleagues describe him as creatively driven and purpose-oriented; outside work he balances engineering with family life as a husband and father.
