Top SchoolMatthew Mcvickar is a full-stack engineer based in Portland with nearly two decades of experience designing and shipping elegant web products, and 14 years in professional engineering roles. He brings deep WordPress expertise alongside modern JavaScript and PHP skills, having led engineering at Postlight/Launch by NTT DATA and now building newsroom-grade systems at CalMatters. Comfortable shifting between hands-on development, plugin architecture, and product-focused consulting, he’s known for pragmatic solutions that balance craft and maintainability. A former art director and copy-involved developer, he blends strong front-end sensibility and content strategy with backend discipline. Outside work he’s a self-described “music fiend,” a hint of creative instincts that inform his approach to UX and code.
