Top SchoolMatthew Persico is a seasoned engineering staff member with over a decade of hands-on experience modernizing and building large-scale software systems for financial services and trading firms. Based in the New York City area, he has held senior engineering and leadership roles at Bloomberg, Goldman Sachs, KCG, and Lazard, bringing deep domain expertise in trading infrastructure, clearing, and settlement systems. He blends practical systems programming skills with strategic technical leadership, having founded and led a software company early in his career. Matthew’s background from The Cooper Union and long tenure in enterprise finance software give him a rare combination of rigorous computer science fundamentals and production-proven reliability. He is comfortable navigating both legacy modernization and new development initiatives, often serving as the bridge between complex business requirements and robust engineering solutions. Colleagues would note his steady, long-term impact on mission-critical financial systems rather than headline-grabbing public open-source presence.
