Summary

Rockstar🎓
Top SchoolMatthew Petruzziello is a software engineer and McGill BE candidate with internship experience across startups and product teams, joining Shopify as a Software Engineer Intern in Winter 2026 after earlier engineering roles at Botpress and Rustica Foods. He has a practical year of professional experience building growth and product-focused tooling, and won the ConUHacks 2025 Sun Life challenge, demonstrating strong hackathon-driven problem solving. Comfortable across Linux-first development and functional programming (a vocal OCaml enthusiast), he pairs systems-minded engineering with a bias for practical tooling and developer experience. Based in Montreal, he brings curiosity and debate-ready opinions about developer ergonomics, and a track record of shipping features in both growth and core engineering contexts.
