Top SchoolMatthew Prahl is a Principal Software Engineer and team lead with 11 years of experience building cloud-native, security-focused infrastructure at Red Hat and earlier at MITRE. He specializes in Kubernetes extensibility—authoring custom controllers and CRDs in Go—and has led policy and governance efforts for Open Cluster Management while presenting at industry conferences. Matthew pairs hands-on engineering (Python, Go, Node.js, Rust and Golang hobbyist) with delivery leadership, having led scrum teams that automated container rebuilds, security scanning, and release pipelines. He also builds practical automation (including a GitHub app for cherry-picking open-source changes) and mentors junior engineers, bringing a strong pedigree in secure, auditable systems from his background in Active Directory and DoD compliance projects. Based in Virginia, he blends open-source stewardship with enterprise-grade productization and a penchant for automation and efficient developer workflows.
