Matthew Schiros
Director Of Data & Platform
Seattle, Washington, United States
Summary
👤
SeniorMatthew Schiros is a seasoned engineering leader with 15+ years building resilient, cloud-native platforms and data infrastructure across gaming, e-commerce, and SaaS companies. As Director of Data & Platform and former Director roles at Unity and Stern Pinball, he has led large SRE, networking, and platform teams to modernize monoliths into microservices while ensuring regulatory compliance and cost-efficient cloud operations. He is pragmatic about operational excellence—driving multi-million dollar cloud savings, decommissioning redundant infrastructure, and establishing blameless incident processes that reveal non-obvious failure modes. Matthew blends hands-on technical depth (Kubernetes, GCP, observability, databases) with a people-first leadership style that emphasizes empathy, learning, and predictable delivery. He also brings entrepreneurial roots from running an anonymous hosting business, giving him a long view on privacy, security, and customer-facing reliability. Based in Lake Stevens, WA, he excels at aligning cross-functional stakeholders to turn complex requirements into auditable, production-grade systems.
