Top SchoolMatthew Sommer is a multidisciplinary technology leader with 11 years of experience building and operating engineering, product development, and IT functions across hardware and software-focused companies. Currently Head of Enterprise Operations at a stealth startup, he has led PLM, IT security, and cloud infrastructure initiatives at electric vehicle and bioscience firms, and served as interim CTO driving Terraform-based IaC and containerized deployments. Matthew combines hands-on coding experience (C#, JavaScript frameworks, backend Java) with systems architecture and process design—introducing Agile at scale, integrating ENOVIA to ERP, and automating onboarding/offboarding workflows. He’s comfortable jumping from strategy to implementation, having co-founded a satellite/UAV networking startup and managed remote engineering teams. Based in Los Angeles, he brings a pragmatic, product-oriented mindset and an affinity for complex, cross-functional problems informed by a mechanical engineering background.
