Top SchoolMatthew Swain is a Staff Engineer with 12 years of professional experience and a strong background in data and infrastructure across both Windows/.NET and Debian/Linux environments. He combines hands-on skills in SQL Server, PowerShell, Bash, Python and C# with practical DevOps experience—building automation, configuration management and data pipelines that keep large production estates reliable. Matthew has led data engineering teams, recruited and planned work to balance BAU with new feature delivery, and introduced cloud-native tools and Apache Spark for high-volume data tasks. Comfortable operating at the intersection of application, data and operations, he prefers working within cross-functional teams that own services end-to-end and is actively exploring containerization and public cloud patterns. Based in Nottingham, he brings a pragmatic, automation-first approach informed by repeated migrations and platform hardening across retail, SaaS and property-data businesses.
