Matthias Oostrik is a multidisciplinary visual artist based in Amsterdam who for over a decade has created interactive installations at the intersection of computer art, film and experimental man–machine interaction. He explores how digital technologies reshape environments and social relations, from poetical algorithmic visuals to customised surveillance that activates audiences. His practice frequently incorporates unconventional input—such as EEG brainwave data—to translate intimate human signals into shared visual landscapes. Running his Studio Matthias Oostrik since 2004 and trained in Interactive Media, he blends technical rigour with performative sensitivity to invite participatory reflection.
