Senior🎓
Top SchoolMax Berman is an engineering manager in the SF Bay Area with two decades of hands-on and leadership experience building scalable systems across startups and large tech companies. He was an early engineer at Tableau and later led teams responsible for data preparation, web stacks, and core infrastructure at companies including Tableau, Tubular Labs, Humu, Stripe, and now Uber. Max blends low-level expertise (native C++) with full-stack and distributed systems design, shipping improvements from visualization and ETL to payments processing and high-availability services. He’s passionate about growing high-performing teams while staying technically involved, often bootstrapping product ideas end-to-end as an indie hacker. Notably, his career reflects a pattern of joining companies early or during rapid growth and shaping durable engineering practices that scale.
