Rockstar🎓
Top SchoolMax Coplan is a Senior Software Engineer with nine years of experience specializing in performance engineering and developer tooling, most recently accelerating the world's largest retailer's site and joining TikTok in Sunnyvale. He drove a 500ms LCP improvement and 50%+ INP gains through server-side caching, image pipeline optimizations, Chromium rendering patches, and DOM/CSS tuning—work that directly translated into tens of millions in revenue and better search rankings. Equally strong on measurement, Max built ubiquitous internal tooling: a forked, instrumented React for profiling, a federated GraphQL debugger, HAR-comparison tools, and observability dashboards that made performance measurable and actionable across teams. He pairs deep browser and React internals knowledge with production-grade systems design (Go, TypeScript, GraphQL, Java/Spring) and a background in physics and ML research, which informs his statistical approach to A/B testing and performance analysis. Passionate about developer productivity, he seeks roles building the next decade of tools that help engineers move faster and ship better software.
