Top SchoolMaxim Velesyuk is a versatile software engineer with 13 years of experience building reliable backend systems and user-facing features across high-throughput, payment and travel domains. Based in Barcelona, he has shipped production services at TravelPerk and Booking.com and led Erlang-based backend design for mobile payments, handling sessions, transactions, currency conversion and third-party integrations with a test-driven approach. Comfortable across languages and stacks (Erlang, Python, Java, Perl, frontend JS/React), he has tackled everything from low-level RPC protocols and websocket clients to Dockerized CI/CD and A/B testing. Colleagues rely on him for pragmatic system refactors, robust testing, and cross-team collaboration with mobile and backoffice teams. An understated strength is his habit of pairing deep systems thinking with product-minded fixes—turning messy legacy components into maintainable, well-tested services.
