Senior🎓
Top SchoolMaxwell Daum is a Senior Software Engineer with 12 years building cloud-native, back-end biased systems using TypeScript/Node.js, Java, and Scala. He specializes in highly available microservices and operationalizing them in AWS, holding both AWS Developer and Solutions Architect certifications. Maxwell has driven cost-optimization and observability initiatives—co-leading cloud cost-management guilds that cut double-digit percentages from organizational bills and implementing dynamic right-sizing for ECS Fargate workloads. He’s experienced across the full lifecycle of services from IaC and CI/CD to on-call incident work, and has a strong track record of creating onboarding and architectural documentation to scale teams. Based in Durham, NC, he holds an MS and BS in Computer Science from UNC Chapel Hill and has repeatedly translated academic rigor into production improvements like a tunable Mongo-to-DynamoDB migration and serverless webhook platforms. Colleagues know him for combining pragmatic engineering with a knack for reducing cloud footprint and operational complexity.
