Top SchoolMaxwell Li is a physician-scientist blending clinical training with nearly a decade of R&D in biomedical engineering, tissue engineering, and polymer science. He earned an MD from Oakland University William Beaumont and is completing an MPH at Icahn School of Medicine while training in residency, bringing frontline clinical perspective to device and therapeutics development. His work ranges from biodegradable stent materials and cell-culture–based studies to translational projects on helminthic therapies and occupational PFAS exposure, reflecting comfort across lab, regulatory, and public-health domains. A practical tinkerer who admits “UI implementation is pain,” he pairs hands-on prototyping and polymer processing expertise with epidemiology-informed problem framing. Maxwell seeks to develop next-generation implants, smart prosthetics, and drug-device combos that bridge bench innovation with clinical impact.
