Top SchoolMckay Salisbury is a Staff Software Engineer with three decades of professional experience and a deep specialty in security (encryption, authentication, authorization), database design, and resilient system architecture. He has driven high-availability, high-reliability systems at scale across FinTech and media—leading payment and servicing platforms, designing zero-trust microservice authorization, and helping products support millions of users. A proven architect and mentor, he has founded and led guilds for architecture, incident response, and database schema to elevate engineering practices, reduce outages, and streamline compliance. His work at Hulu produced multiple patents in stream reliability and metadata classification, and at Kiavi he integrated ML/LLM capabilities into underwriting and developer workflows. Based in Orem, Utah, he combines hands-on implementation with organizational coaching to improve code quality and developer effectiveness wherever he works. Notably, he builds tooling and processes that let non-engineers audit least-privilege access and simplify SOX/ITGC reporting—turning complex security controls into practical, auditable systems.
