Senior🎓
Top SchoolMelissa Smoot is a software developer based in Portland, Oregon with eight years of experience blending front-end React/Next.js expertise and Node.js back-end work alongside Postgres and MongoDB. She brings a systems-oriented perspective from several years as a project manager and product owner, which sharpens her ability to translate cross-functional needs into accessible, maintainable UI and integrations. At startups and small teams she’s been the primary business-side developer, shipping Shopify/Liquid-based customer experiences, analytics-driven A/B tests, and editable WYSIWYG components for non-developers. Comfortable with Docker, GitHub, and cloud services, she pairs pragmatic engineering with interests in UX, accessibility, NLP, and digital storytelling. Colleagues would describe her as a maker who cares about neat, usable solutions and the organizational processes that keep them sustainable.
