Top SchoolMica Alaniz is an Engineering Manager at Slack with 11 years of experience leading front-end architecture and web/application development from Chicago. She blends hands-on UI engineering, email design, and digital marketing expertise with community outreach and event production to deliver polished user experiences. Known for pragmatic leadership and a playful, results-driven style—“kicking ass and taking names”—she focuses on building teams that ship reliable, user-centered products. With an MA in New Media Studies and a BS in Communications, she bridges creative strategy and technical execution, and is as likely to prototype a UI pattern as she is to organize a local tech event.
