Top SchoolMicah Chao is a Broadband Data Specialist and software engineer with 11 years of experience building data-driven tools and improving operational workflows across healthcare, telecom, and government programs. A Drexel Software Engineering graduate with an MS in Computer Science from UH Mānoa, he combines full-stack development experience (React, Ember, Java, Python) with strong analytics skills (SQL, QlikView, data modeling) to deliver measurable efficiency gains. His work has automated reporting for 400+ cost centers, cut long-running SQL jobs by 80%, and saved six-figure monthly operational costs through data automation and tooling. Micah also brings product-focused UX sensibilities from frontend roles and a practical habit of reducing technical debt—teaching Git, enforcing version control, and writing style guides—to make teams more productive. Now supporting BEAD implementation for Hawaiʻi, he applies both technical depth and cross-stakeholder communication to turn complex policy data into actionable insights.
