Micah Cooper
Principle Software Engineer at Heroku
Chicago, Illinois, United States
Summary
🤩
RockstarMicah Cooper is a principal software engineer based in Chicago with 13 years of experience building and leading engineering teams at Heroku and earlier shops like Hashrocket and Optigen. He’s progressed from hands-on engineering to front-end leadership and now architectural and delivery responsibilities, combining practical coding instincts with people-first management. Known simply for “liking to make things,” he favors shipping polished, user-focused products and mentoring engineers to do the same. Micah’s long tenure at Heroku reflects deep expertise in cloud platform patterns and developer tooling, and his playful past description “Eat code” hints at a pragmatic, work-in-code approach to problem solving.
