Senior🎓
Top SchoolMichael Akopov is a pragmatic engineering leader and hands-on software developer with over a decade building high-traffic web platforms and eCommerce systems. As Head of Technology, he blends rapid prototyping (notably in PHP) with production-grade architectures using RoR, Python, and AWS to drive iterative releases and automation. He has led remote and in-house teams through migrations, CI/CD adoption, and complex integrations—from payment gateways and logistics to Elasticsearch-backed search for millions of monthly visitors. A published author of “Beyond Laravel,” meetup host and frequent contributor to engineering best practices, he favors code reviews, pair programming and selecting the right tool for each problem. Uncommonly, he’s also stood up internal GitLab services and rescued legacy PHP apps into maintainable OO systems, demonstrating both strategic vision and deep operational skill. Based in Richland, WA, he looks for opportunities to apply his mix of leadership, devops savvy, and rapid delivery to product-focused teams.
