Top SchoolMichael B is a Senior Software Engineer and Senior Associate Scientist with 14 years of experience building robust ground system software for space-weather and satellite missions. He architects and implements multi-threaded Java systems and high-performance messaging (zeroMQ) to transform raw telemetry into archived, publicly disseminated scientific data, with deployments spanning multiple security domains and hosts. At CU/CIRES and NOAA SWPC he led development for DSCOVR and SWFO-L1 ground systems, earning performance recognition and working closely with NASA and international ground stations. Equally comfortable with backend services, web visualizations, and CI/CD, he combines a BSEE in software and electrical engineering with hands-on meteorology practice at UCAR. A pragmatic problem-solver, he brings domain-specific systems experience—blending operational 24x7 reliability with research-grade data pipelines.
