Top SchoolMichael Bear is a seasoned Network Engineer with over a decade of IT experience, specializing in enterprise routing and switching, data center networks, and healthcare-grade infrastructure supporting hospitals and clinics. He blends deep hands-on expertise with automation—Python, Ansible, and Terraform—to deliver idempotent, scalable changes across BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and Cisco SD-WAN environments. Comfortable across GNU/Linux and FreeBSD systems, he has built and managed clusters for DX NetOps, EfficientIP DDI, and Cisco ISE while leveraging NetBox, Terraform, and LogicMonitor as part of an automated source-of-truth workflow. Michael’s pragmatic approach favors simple, well-documented solutions with strong monitoring and long-term reliability, and he has a track record of scripting mass changes (e.g., DHCP helper updates on 1,200+ routers) to reduce risk during large migrations. Based in Pennsylvania, he’s passionate about RF/wireless, open source, and electronics, and prefers to start small then iterate until business needs are met.
