Michael Bieber is a Professor and Acting Chair of the Information Systems Department at NJIT, blending on-campus and distance learning to lead curricula and research in collaborative and web-based educational technologies. He directs the Collaborative Hypermedia Research Laboratory and has a long-standing research agenda covering participatory learning, asynchronous networks, digital library and lightweight systems integration, link-based services, and community informatics. An experienced organizer and editor in his fields, he regularly co-organizes conference minitracks and edits special journal issues, translating scholarly work into active research communities.
