Top SchoolMichael Blaum is a Senior Software Engineer based in the New York City area with three years of professional experience building and operating cloud-native distributed systems. He has delivered security-focused infrastructure for Vault Cloud at HashiCorp, managed large-scale data streaming with Kafka at Viasat, and built Scala data pipelines for ML at Capital One, now applying that background to platform work at Astronomer. Michael blends hands-on systems engineering with a focus on reliability and disaster recovery for critical services across AWS and Azure. An alum of the University of Richmond, he pairs practical production experience with curiosity—evident in an offbeat interest in the Congo Basin rainforest that reflects a broader appreciation for complex, interdependent systems.
