Top SchoolMichael Brady is a seasoned communications executive and public affairs leader with more than three decades of experience shaping strategic messaging across government, politics, and the military. Currently Deputy Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs at HHS, he has led crisis communications and national media engagement as Principal Deputy Chief of Public Affairs for the U.S. Army and as chief speechwriter and strategic communications advisor. He combines executive counsel on reputation management with hands-on team leadership, data-informed outreach, and high-stakes briefing of senior officials. His career spans legislative, executive, and media roles—from the U.S. House and New York State Assembly to on-air political analysis—giving him rare cross-sector perspective on how policy narratives form and travel. Known for calm performance under pressure, he has repeatedly translated complex policy into clear public messaging that advances stakeholder trust. Based in Washington, D.C., he pairs institutional savvy with a willingness to experiment in digital outreach (his GitHub notes a playful “418 I’m a teapot” nod), signaling a blend of gravitas and levity in public affairs.
