Software Engineer at Nationwide Building Society
Bournemouth, England, United Kingdom
Summary
👤
SeniorMichael Craddock is a pragmatic front-end engineer with 12 years' experience building accessible, user-focused web applications and leading teams across retail and financial services. Currently a Software Engineer at Nationwide, he bridges front- and back-end concerns with hands-on React and C#/dotnet work informed by earlier PHP, Node and GraphQL projects. As a former Lead Frontend Developer at LV= and Allianz Technology, he introduced testing and build-tooling improvements, created rapid-prototype templates, and mentored engineers while shaping interview processes. He’s comfortable working in multidisciplinary teams, evangelising accessibility (including screen-reader testing) and shipping production-ready microservice front ends. Outside typical duties he’s travelled to enable global rollouts and training, bringing a practical, product-minded approach to developer productivity and documentation.
