Senior🎓
Top SchoolMichael D'auria is a seasoned staff engineer with 18 years of experience leading infrastructure, platform, and operations teams for high-growth web companies. He has driven reliability and scalability improvements across organizations like Squarespace, Animoto, Blue Apron, Crowdtap, and SeatGeek, often owning production uptime and major migrations (e.g., RabbitMQ to Kafka, on-prem to EC2). A hands-on leader and advocate of pair programming and agile practices, he combines deep Ruby/Rails and systems expertise (MongoDB, MySQL/Postgres, Nginx, Chef/Puppet, Kafka, ElasticSearch) with calm decision-making during outages. He’s shipped tooling to automate deployments, consolidated dependencies into shared libraries, and optimized CI/test infrastructure to speed delivery. Based in Montvale, NJ, Michael blends director-level strategy with day-to-day engineering rigor, frequently stepping into the code or shell to unblock teams. An early systems engineer who still prefers solving hard ops problems himself, he’s distinctively comfortable at the intersection of dev and ops.
