Top SchoolMichaël De Groot is a seasoned database administrator and automation advocate with 11 years of focused experience designing and operating open-source MySQL and MariaDB ecosystems. He consults, trains and implements high-availability, scalable architectures—leveraging InnoDB/XtraDB, Galera, ProxySQL, ColumnStore and other storage engines—to solve performance and uptime challenges for customers worldwide. Comfortable across Linux, networking, virtualization and scripting, he champions Ansible-driven automation and CI/CD to reduce toil and enable repeatable, zero-downtime migrations. As a former MariaDB consultant and long-time independent consultant, he blends hands-on troubleshooting with pragmatic architecture and teaching. He also brings entrepreneurial depth as founder/CEO of IntoPARTY and co-founder of Contraband ICT, showing an ability to translate technical platforms into customer-facing products. Known for practical orchestration of complex HA setups, he frequently pairs deep storage-engine knowledge with automation to make resilient systems maintainable.
