Michael Franken is a veteran software engineer and entrepreneur with over two decades of hands-on experience in C, Java, Ruby, Node and JavaScript and 13 years of formal industry experience leading product and technology organizations. As CEO and coder of Zilverline and Chief Product Owner of Thinka, he bridges business and engineering by building self-organizing teams, shipping product-led solutions (including a HomeKit/Alexa/Google smart-home integration) and keeping a developer’s mindset. He helped introduce Scrum in the Netherlands as the country’s first Certified Scrum Trainer, founded AgileHolland, and authored a practical Scrum guide, demonstrating rare depth in both agile coaching and technical delivery. Michael has held CTO roles at Xebia, marviQ and other firms where he combined strategic vision with hands-on architecture and scaling decisions for major Dutch enterprises. An active open-source contributor, he has extended the popular Domoticz home-automation platform with hardware integrations and full stack support for novel devices like Winddelen. Colleagues describe him as a pragmatic visionary who still prefers to code alongside his teams.
