Senior🎓
Top SchoolMichael Friis is a Chief Software Architect with a decade of experience designing platform and enablement solutions that move legacy banking and consumer systems to cloud-native, event-driven architectures. He specializes in bridging leadership and engineering—translating strategy into incremental, low-risk transition architectures, InnerSource practices, and developer self-service that accelerate delivery across distributed teams in Denmark, Lithuania, India and beyond. His work spans enterprise-grade Kafka/Pulsar integrations, OpenShift/Kubernetes, Terraform/Pulumi IaC, and API-first standards (OpenAPI/AsyncAPI) to reduce cognitive load and improve reuse and discoverability. Previously at the LEGO Group he led API management, multi-tenant event streaming, and a shift to OAuth2-based auth and GitOps delivery, demonstrating a knack for pragmatic change management at scale. Based in Skanderborg, he pairs domain-driven design and observability-minded engineering with a strong focus on empowering engineers to ship secure, production-ready value quickly.
