Senior🎓
Top SchoolMichael Gimbel is a seasoned software architect and hands-on engineer with nearly two decades of experience designing cloud-native, SaaS, and web applications. He has led cross-functional teams and delivered complex systems—from real-time event detection and market analysis platforms at Draper Labs to machine learning, text recognition, and trading systems at RightBrain Networks. Equally comfortable in high-level architecture and daily coding, he’s built solutions using Python, Java, Ruby on Rails, AWS, relational and NoSQL databases, and message brokers, and has maintained large legacy PHP estates. As a long-time independent consultant and director-level technologist, he blends agile practices and team mentorship with pragmatic delivery for enterprise and government clients. Based in Andover, MA, Michael brings a rare mix of deep systems thinking and practical implementation, often stepping into both principal-engineer and architect roles on the same project. He’s quietly versatile—able to modernize legacy stacks while architecting distributed, auto-scaling cloud services.
