Top SchoolMichael Hawes is a seasoned Staff Programmer Analyst with over a decade of IT experience blending full-stack Oracle development (PL/SQL, APEX, REST/JSON/XML) with enterprise systems architecture and high-availability operations. He has a rare combination of hands-on database and integration expertise—designing COTS API bi-directional interfaces and ETL pipelines—together with deep infrastructure skills in AIX/Linux, SAN, virtualization and disaster recovery. At STP Nuclear he’s delivered critical data migrations and interfaces for regulated, mission-critical applications, demonstrating an emphasis on reliability and traceability. His background leading teams, managing budgets and negotiating procurements complements a pragmatic engineering mindset that values automation and maintainability. Based in rural Texas after a BS in Telecommunications Engineering from Texas A&M, he brings a practical, cross-domain perspective forged from roles spanning network, systems, SCADA and application development. Not obvious at first glance: his career started in the Air Force as an aircraft mechanic, which helped instill the discipline for meticulous, safety-conscious engineering.
