Senior🎓
Top SchoolMichael Hiley is a Senior Software Engineer with 12 years of experience building full-stack, resilient systems for enterprise production environments. Based in Madison, WI, he has driven cross-team feature launches and integrations at scale—most recently helping bring client middleware integrations and event-driven microservice patterns to production at Doma and now contributing to Afresh. He excels at turning brittle legacy workflows into predictable, recoverable systems (notably improving an email workflow handling ~100k messages/month) and enjoys being the “wherever I’m needed” engineer across frontend, backend, and cloud infrastructure. His background in atmospheric science and satellite data processing informs a data-minded approach to engineering, evident from earlier work on global satellite imagery pipelines and mission-control web apps. Colleagues rely on him for thoughtful design decisions, mentorship, and making launch day intentionally boring.
