Top SchoolMichael Holloway is a senior software engineer with 11 years of experience specializing in backend systems and distributed architectures, currently working at Meta in New York. He has led large-scale migrations and stream-processing proofs of concept—most notably moving 300+ TB of archived tickets to DynamoDB and prototyping Apache Flink-based aggregation at Zendesk—while also owning validation and conflict-detection subsystems at HubSpot. At Wikimedia he shipped push notification systems and contributed to the official Wikipedia iOS app, improving image handling and removing legacy mobile features, demonstrating a strong commitment to open-source and platform compliance. He pairs product-minded engineering with data-focused implementation, having rebuilt a Solr-backed catalog pipeline for the University of Pennsylvania and authored analytics event specs and client libraries across languages. Michael’s background blends rigorous systems work with a knack for operational reliability and developer-facing tooling, and he’s pursuing further CS study while holding a JD from Columbia and a BA from Cornell. An uncommon thread through his career is shipping pragmatic integrations that bridge research, privacy/security concerns, and production reliability.
