Top SchoolMichael Karbowiak is a DevOps Engineer with 12 years of hands-on experience transitioning from a self-taught PHP backend developer into a platform-focused engineer. He specializes in building and automating cloud-native infrastructure with Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, Docker, and Linux across AWS, Azure and Hetzner, while maintaining deep familiarity with MySQL/Postgres, Redis and Elasticsearch. His background includes long-term PHP work (Laravel, Lumen, Magento) and contributions to high-traffic projects like zKillboard, giving him a pragmatic understanding of performance and operational reliability. Based in Aalborg, he combines practical scripting and platform automation with a habit of consolidating disparate data sources into single silos for easier processing and analysis. Colleagues know him for moving quickly between developer and ops perspectives and for an eclectic GitHub presence that reflects curiosity as much as utility.
