Top SchoolMichael Kohlberg is a pragmatic software engineer with eight years of hands-on experience building full-stack systems, embedded controls, and field-ready hardware-software products. He led development of a LiDAR-based survey automation platform—designing solar-powered scanners, 3D point-cloud visualization, contour/heatmap analysis, and automated PDF reporting—while architecting a stack spanning React, Node, Python, ROS, C++, PDAL, Kubernetes, and MongoDB. His background in controls and PLC/HMI work for industrial machinery and RV appliance integration gives him a rare blend of low-level systems knowledge and modern web/mobile engineering. Comfortable taking projects from hardware design through cloud deployment and business strategy, he’s equally adept at writing embedded firmware as shipping user-facing analytics. Based in Kansas City, he pairs mechanical engineering roots with formal software training from General Assembly, and a history of running a small business that honed his customer-focused, delivery-oriented mindset.
