Top SchoolMichael Lasevich is a Distinguished Engineer with over two decades delivering pragmatic, low-cost infrastructure and automation solutions for small to mid-size companies, currently shaping platform and ops strategy at Blackhawk Network. He combines deep hands-on skills across DevOps, systems and systems architecture with a proven track record building developer-controlled deployment pipelines and high-availability production systems at scale (MyFitnessPal supporting 80M users). Michael has founded and led multiple consultancies and product efforts—creating a Holistic Deployment Manager and guiding cloud-native, IoT, and payment-processing projects—demonstrating both entrepreneurial drive and operational rigor. He prefers custom engineering over expensive off-the-shelf fixes, believing intimate system knowledge yields more reliable, tailored outcomes. Based in Oakland, he is comfortable spanning embedded C++ for industrial IoT through large AWS deployments, and often surfaces automation that eliminates roles and processes rather than adding complexity.
