Top SchoolMichael Lussier is a pragmatic support engineer with 12 years of experience helping scale Elasticsearch-powered platforms from tiny startups to large customer bases. He cut his teeth at Qbox, where he moved from early hire to key developer and on-call support engineer, building Ruby on Rails features, provisioning Elasticsearch clusters across AWS, Rackspace, SoftLayer and Kubernetes, and advising performance‑intensive customers around the clock. Now at GitLab, he combines deep operational knowledge of search infrastructure with hands-on troubleshooting through Zendesk and community channels like Stack Overflow. Michael’s background includes creating widely shared tutorials and content that were featured in Elasticsearch roundups, reflecting his knack for turning complex ops problems into usable guidance. Based in Fayetteville, Arkansas, he brings a startup mindset—ownership, documentation, and relentless customer focus—while thriving in larger, distributed support organizations.
