Top SchoolMichael Marchand is a Staff Backend Engineer based in Boulder, Colorado with eight years of experience transitioning from finance and mortgage operations into back-end Rails development. He learned Ruby on Rails through sustained hands-on maintenance and formal training at Turing School, pairing financial domain knowledge from a BS in Finance with pragmatic engineering skills. At DocMe360 he focuses on backend systems while earlier roles at Turing School sharpened his software development practice and mentorship instincts. His background processing complex mortgage workflows gives him a practical edge in building reliable, compliance-aware systems that interact with financial data. Known among peers as a dependable problem-solver, he blends operational rigor from lending with a developer’s mindset for testable, maintainable code. Outside work he keeps ties to the Rails community and leverages his finance training to inform data-driven engineering decisions.
