Top SchoolMichael Mccanna is an infrastructure engineer with 11 years of experience building reliable systems across startups and larger tech companies from Amazon and Dropbox to a string of high-growth ventures in the Bay Area. He has held technical and executive roles—co-founding Nectome, serving as CTO at Flair, and running operations and staff engineering at Immunefi—bringing a blend of hands-on engineering, product-minded leadership, and operational rigor. His background spans low-latency speech recognition at Amazon, real-time collaboration and backend work at Zulip and Dropbox, and cutting-edge infrastructure concerns in security and preservation-focused startups. Now based in San Francisco, he focuses on scalable infrastructure and platform reliability while advising security-focused projects, reflecting an unusual mix of deep systems experience and startup operator instincts. Colleagues would note his ability to move between code, architecture, and company strategy, and an uncommon early career focus on connectomics and brain preservation that informs his long-term thinking about systems and data.
