Top SchoolMichael Romero is an engineering director based in Seattle with 12 years of deep graphics and systems experience, currently leading teams at Epic Games after senior leadership roles at 343 Industries and Intel. He combines low-level driver and API expertise (DX12/Vulkan) with production game-engine delivery, having led graphics, PC, and engine teams for major franchises like Halo. At Intel he founded the "Launch Drivers" program and drove cross-geo performance engineering, demonstrating a knack for operationalizing engineering processes as well as technical innovation. Michael is hands-on—early in his career he delivered a 10x faster DX9 driver with far less code and contributed to front-end OSS such as enhancements to the popular Beautiful Hugo theme. Colleagues describe him as a strategic technical leader who can pivot between architecture, performance optimization, and shipping high-profile releases. He holds BS and MS degrees in Computer Engineering from RIT and consistently blends academic rigor with pragmatic product focus.
