Top SchoolMichael Rüffer is an experienced technology executive and entrepreneur with 11 years in senior leadership roles, currently serving as CTO at Smartbroker AG in Berlin. He has repeatedly built and scaled engineering organizations across startups and corporate ventures, from co-founding product-driven companies to leading tech strategy for the Oetker group. Skilled at bridging product, operations and finance, he drives platform consolidation, architecture decisions and measurable KPIs while mentoring engineers and shaping hiring strategy. Michael’s background includes hands-on CTO and head-of-engineering roles at FinLeap, HitFox, and multiple startups, giving him a rare mix of operator experience and strategic M&A technical due diligence. He combines a pragmatist’s focus on speed, quality and autonomy with a talent for embedding data-driven decision making across portfolios. Outside the obvious executive remit, he often acts as the connective tissue between marketing, business development and engineering to accelerate product launches.
