Michael Samuelson
Principal Software Engineer at Arizona State University
Nampa, Idaho, United States
Summary
👤
SeniorMichael Samuelson is a Principal Software Engineer with over a decade of experience designing and leading web platform and application architecture for academic, non-profit, and government organizations. Based in Nampa, Idaho, he combines hands-on React front-end work and Drupal enterprise CMS distributions with AWS serverless patterns (Lambda, API Gateway, Elasticsearch) and backend languages like PHP and Python. A pragmatic technical lead and mentor, he’s known for owning gaps in projects and coaching award-winning FIRST robotics teams, bringing a teacher’s patience to complex engineering problems. Comfortable as a reliable "session musician" rather than a solo rockstar, he focuses on sustainable, standards-based, and accessible web solutions that scale across institutions.
